Instrumental Jazz Fusion music is an amazing thing! It is a musical language and a way of evoking emotion and passion well beyond the use of lyrics. Musical improvisation is a means of letting what is in your heart flow out with unbridled freedom of expression. This provides open individualistic interpretation and enjoyment for the listener and much gratification for us as the artists.

This project is another release of original compositions, which arises from our longstanding presence as a band and our desire to maintain our signature and identity. As much as the fingerprints and vocal tonalities are individually unique, so is the music of Soul Café. We want our sound to remain that personal signature that connects which each listener.

I sincerely appreciate all of the superbly talented musicians who made this project possible. It has been a great pleasure to work with some of St. Louis’s finest players.
